Commenting on this, Markus Buchheit, ESN MEP and member of the European Parliament’s Committee on Industry, Research and Energy (ITRE), said:
“The European Commission is toying with the democratic substance of Europe. A body of law that bypasses national parliaments cements a Europe of bureaucrats and corporations. That is not progress but a relapse into technocratic arbitrariness.
“What is being sold as start-up support is, in truth, a gateway for tax avoidance, wage dumping, and democratic disempowerment. The planned parallel legal system threatens to permanently devalue national legal orders.
“The ESN Group therefore calls for the immediate halt of this initiative and a return to genuine Single Market reforms: less bureaucracy, more competition, and the strengthening of national responsibility. Europe needs cooperation, not legal duplication.”
