3.6 billion for the new AgoraEU programme is an affront to every net contributor

Within the future Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF), the EU is planning to expand funding from 2028 for the CERV (Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values) programme. A total of €3.6 billion is earmarked to support civil society initiatives as well as democracy, equality and values projects.

ESN Group budgetary policy spokesperson Alexander Jungbluth states:

“This is not support for democracy, but the brazen feeding of left-green NGO structures for political re-education. It is obvious that the money is primarily intended for organisations that aggressively push the political agenda of the Brussels elites in the Member States — from gender ideology to uncontrolled migration.

In the past, the CERV programme has already come under heavy criticism because it systematically discriminates against inconvenient voices and national value systems, while promoting a transnational, globalist ideology instead. Integrating this funding pot into the new AgoraEU programme changes nothing about its political purpose — it massively expands its ideological firepower.

This waste of taxpayers’ money must be stopped immediately. We are calling for a radical realignment of the MFF: such ideological funding pots must be abolished without replacement — the money should go back to the citizens of the Member States, where it is urgently needed for real challenges such as combating inflation and boosting competitiveness!”
