Jungbluth on the Conditionality Regulation: “The EU punishes differing opinions of Member States”

At yesterday’s meeting of the Committee on Budgets, Member of the European Parliament Alexander Jungbluth (AfD/ESN) stated plainly:

“The conditionality regulation serves only to harass Member States that refuse to submit to EU doctrine. A functioning mechanism among the individual Member States is not desired by the current EU officials. The real aim is to strip Hungary—a sovereign state that is not obedient—of EU funds. To achieve this, new posts are to be created to monitor and regulate unwelcome national policies. This is the beginning of a surveillance apparatus.

It is important that mechanisms like the conditionality regulation are not expanded but instead abolished.”
