Industry in Free Fall – ESN Group warns of dangerous EU climate policy

Germany’s industrial decline is accelerating dramatically. According to Gesamtmetall President Stefan Wolf, roughly a quarter of a million jobs have been lost in the metal and electrical industries alone since 2018. Currently, 10,000 to 15,000 industrial jobs are disappearing every month. Meanwhile, energy prices, social security contributions, and bureaucratic costs continue to rise steadily. Companies spend almost €70 billion a year just to properly fill out forms for the numerous reporting obligations to the EU and the government.

ESN Group MEP Anja Arndt states:

“What we are witnessing is not structural change but a managed decline. If ten thousand industrial jobs vanish month after month, Germany will become a country where nothing works anymore, nothing is produced anymore, nothing is built anymore.

This development—fueled by the EU’s climate agenda—is stripping us of our industrial base, our jobs, and our future. It is a political scandal—and highly dangerous.

If Brussels does not act now, we face an economic situation like after a war: a hollowed-out country that can no longer support itself. This policy must be stopped immediately and the corresponding EU regulations suspended.

The ESN Group demands: The Green Deal must be stopped at once. Anything else is irresponsible.”
