Plenary week: safe countries of origin adopted, 90 billion for Ukraine questioned

Parliament voted in favour of an EU-wide list of safe countries of origin and new third-country rules. A long overdue step – but not yet the necessary turning point in migration policy.

€90 billion for Ukraine?

The ESN Group has submitted a major interpellation to the Commission. Without a realistic repayment perspective, European taxpayers face substantial liability risks. We demand full transparency, clear legal foundations and strict oversight of all funds already disbursed.

No to the Digital Euro

ESN was the only political group in the European Parliament to unanimously oppose the introduction of a digital euro. For us, this is clear: no further step toward full control of citizens’ payment transactions.

EIB as a “climate bank”

Billions are being channelled into so-called green projects while households and businesses struggle with high energy prices. Investments must prioritise energy security and affordability – not ideology.

Agriculture & wine sector

Strengthen competitiveness instead of creating new bureaucracy. Farmers and winemakers need relief, not additional reporting obligations.

Defence & foreign policy

Strategic autonomy must not mean militarisation by stealth. In international agreements, sovereignty and institutional balance must be safeguarded.
