Today, the ongoing annual meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) is taking place in Davos. Political and economic leaders from around the world are discussing global issues such as the economy, geopolitics, trade, and security in panel sessions and bilateral talks. Donald Trump also delivered a speech today.
In response, ESN MEP Dr Alexander Sell said:
“Donald Trump is stating the obvious in Davos: Europe’s greatest threat comes from within. Through misguided decisions on migration policy, climate policy, and defence policy, Europe’s leaders have destroyed Europe’s ability to act economically, diplomatically, and militarily. If we, as Germans and Europeans, want to be taken seriously again in the world, we need a 180-degree change of course in policy.”
