Biography

About the Member.

Deutschland und Europa brauchen eine Wirtschaftspolitik, die Wohlstand schafft – statt ihn Schritt für Schritt zu vernichten.

Markus Buchheit is a German Member of the European Parliament, first elected in 2019 and re-elected in 2024. He serves as a full member of the Committee on International Trade, where he is the coordinator for the Europe of Sovereign Nations Group, and of the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy. He is also a member of the EU-Chile Joint Parliamentary Committee and the Euro-Latin American Parliamentary Assembly. He is Deputy Chair of AfD Bavaria.

A political scientist and business lawyer, he studied law and political science and worked in publishing, for a French listed company and in a Franco-German law firm. He later served as an assistant to a Member of the European Parliament and as a parliamentary adviser specialising in international trade before entering Parliament himself.
