“Hate speech” accusation after Equal Pay speech: Boßdorf attacked in the European Parliament

In the European Parliament, during a speech by MEP Irmhild Boßdorf on Equal Pay Day, a point of order was raised under Rule 10(4) of the Rules of Procedure. In this context, one MEP accused her of “hate speech.” The background to this were Boßdorf’s remarks on the biological reality of women and on the connection between the gender pay gap and the so-called “mother pay gap.”

Irmhild Boßdorf, MEP for the ESN Group, stated:

“This point of order is a ridiculous and at the same time dangerous attempt at intimidation. If it is now considered ‘hate speech’ to say out loud that only biological women can give birth to children, then this Parliament has completely lost touch with reality. They want to silence me because I criticize the misguided EU agenda, which wants to spend an incredible 110 billion euros over the next five years on the LGBTQIA+ agenda, while Parliament no longer even dares to define what a woman actually is.

Instead of attacking me with absurd points of order over ‘hate speech,’ Parliament should finally take action. I stand by my clear demand: let us immediately redirect the 110 billion euros for this absurd trans agenda into a mothers’ agenda. We must finally honor and provide financial security for those who safeguard our future: our mothers.”
