About the Delegation
Svoboda a přímá demokracie (SPD) was founded in 2015 by Tomio Okamura and holds 15 seats in the Czech Chamber of Deputies. Its MEP, Ivan David, announced on 4 July 2024 that the party would form a new political group together with Alternative für Deutschland; the Europe of Sovereign Nations Group was founded on 10 July 2024. The SPD had previously sat in the Identity and Democracy group.
The Delegation
The Czech Republic is represented in the ESN Group by Ivan David, a psychiatrist and former Czech Minister of Health, re-elected to the European Parliament in 2024 on a joint SPD–Trikolóra list.
