At the conclusion of the SCO summit in Tianjin, Member of the European Parliament Petr Bystron (AfD/ESN) stated:

“At the SCO meeting in Tianjin, far-reaching political decisions were taken. The rapprochement between China and India as well as the creation of the SCO Development Bank (BRICS Bank) are a major step toward a multipolar world order. Germany and the EU are falling behind the world powers.

The further development of a multipolar world order has political, military, and economic implications for Germany and the EU. While more and more states are expanding their cooperation and, through new institutions such as the SCO Development Bank, strengthening their economic independence from the West, Germany is being left out. Yet it is in Germany’s interest as an export nation to participate in these developments.”
