On 29–30 September 2025, the ESN Group held its Bureau Away Days in Prague. The focus was on analyses of the political situation in the Czech Republic, intensive discussions in the Czech Parliament, and strategic exchange with representatives of the party Svoboda a přímá demokracie (SPD). The program included, among others, a briefing with Czech MEP Ivan David, meetings with Members of Parliament Radim Fiala and party chairman Tomio Okamura.

Strong momentum for a sovereign Europe

The discussions highlighted the shared commitment of the ESN Group and the Czech SPD to strengthen the national sovereignty of member states and to place the democratic self-determination of peoples at the center of European politics. Both sides emphasized the need to critically reassess EU competences, to firmly regain control over migration, and to preserve Europe’s cultural identity. There was also agreement that the EU’s current energy and economic policies pose an enormous burden on our nation-states. A fundamental policy shift is urgently needed to secure prosperity and competitiveness without overburdening citizens with excessive regulations and costs. The promotion of direct democracy and greater participation of citizens was also underlined as a central guiding principle.

Thanks to our Czech partners

The ESN Group extends its gratitude to the Czech SPD for their excellent organization and for the open, cooperative exchange. The Bureau Away Days once again demonstrated that collaboration between European partner parties is a vital driving force for a politics that puts freedom, responsibility, and national independence at its core.
