Last Saturday, the 6th International Women’s Congress of the ESN Group took place under the guiding theme “Modern Images of Women in Europe”. Numerous committed women as well as international guests came together to exchange views on key social developments and perspectives.

The diverse programme featured high-level contributions and lively discussions. Following the opening by Irmhild Boßdorf MEP, who addressed current challenges in her speech “What Does the World Cost?”, the morning continued with a contribution by Mary Khan MEP. In her interactive presentation, she spoke about the roles of men and women in relationships.

In the afternoon, Iem Al Biyati (FvD), chairwoman of the youth organisation of Forum voor Democratie, spoke on “The Netherlands as a part-time champion – effects on society”, providing important impulses for the discussion on working models and their social consequences.

The programme of expert contributions concluded with an input by Prof. Lennart Freyth on the topic of “Modern Dating”, before the event ended with a joint closing round.

AfD politician for European affairs Irmhild Boßdorf stated:

“At the centre of the congress was the question of a contemporary image of women in Europe. It became clear that women, including those on the political right, stand for self-determination, strength, and personal responsibility. They make conscious use of their freedoms and take decisions in line with their personal convictions, including an appreciation of family, solidarity, and responsibility.

The event provided space for an open international exchange and was marked by an engaged and constructive atmosphere. Participants particularly highlighted the diversity of perspectives as well as the practical impulses offered.

With the impressions and discussion results gained, the ESN Group looks confidently to the future, with the goal of a Europe in which women can go their own way: free, self-assured, and full of strength.”
