Nella seduta odierna, per la prima volta, sono stati messi in primo piano dati concreti sugli sviluppi nel settore abitativo. \u00c8 emerso chiaramente che, nonostante un aumento a livello dell\u2019UE di circa 30 milioni di unit\u00e0 abitative dal 2010, la domanda continua a crescere, tra l\u2019altro a causa dei cambiamenti demografici e del numero crescente di nuclei familiari. Allo stesso tempo, le istituzioni dell\u2019UE hanno riconosciuto la mancanza di dati affidabili su questioni fondamentali, quali il numero effettivo di alloggi sfitti.<\/p>\n<p>Volker Schnurrbusch, membro del Parlamento europeo per il Gruppo ESN e membro sostituto della commissione HOUS, commenta:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cL\u2019ultima riunione ha messo a nudo, senza alcun eufemismo, quanto la politica abitativa dell\u2019UE si sia ormai allontanata dalla realt\u00e0. Bruxelles vuole affrontare la crisi abitativa, eppure non sa nemmeno quante abitazioni siano effettivamente vuote e sarebbero realmente disponibili.<\/p>\n<p>Si tratta di un autoinganno politico. Anzich\u00e9 affrontare le cause della crisi \u2013 l\u2019immigrazione incontrollata, l\u2019impennata dei prezzi dell\u2019energia e le normative sempre pi\u00f9 restrittive a carico di costruttori, proprietari e inquilini \u2013 i gruppi di sinistra si rifugiano in fantasie ideologiche che prevedono misure coercitive, limiti massimi agli affitti e quote per le case vacanza. Eppure, anche i loro stessi dati dimostrano che gli affitti a breve termine non sono il problema e che molte abitazioni apparentemente \u2018vuote\u2019 vengono utilizzate solo temporaneamente o non sono affatto commerciabili. Elaborare politiche senza basarsi sui fatti non fa che aggravare la crisi.
