Depuis plus d\u2019un an, la commission sp\u00e9ciale charg\u00e9e de traiter la crise du logement dans l\u2019Union europ\u00e9enne se r\u00e9unit. Lors de la s\u00e9ance d\u2019aujourd\u2019hui, pour la premi\u00e8re fois, des donn\u00e9es concr\u00e8tes sur l\u2019\u00e9volution du march\u00e9 du logement ont occup\u00e9 le devant de la sc\u00e8ne. Il est apparu clairement que, malgr\u00e9 une augmentation d\u2019environ 30 millions de logements \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9chelle de l\u2019UE depuis 2010, la demande continue de cro\u00eetre, notamment en raison de l\u2019\u00e9volution d\u00e9mographique et du nombre croissant de m\u00e9nages. Parall\u00e8lement, les institutions de l\u2019UE ont reconnu le manque de donn\u00e9es fiables sur des questions essentielles, telles que le nombre r\u00e9el de logements vacants.<\/p>\n

Volker Schnurrbusch, d\u00e9put\u00e9 europ\u00e9en du groupe ENS et membre suppl\u00e9ant de la commission HOUS, commente :<\/p>\n

\u201c La derni\u00e8re r\u00e9union a mis \u00e0 nu, sans fard, \u00e0 quel point la politique du logement de l\u2019UE s\u2019est d\u00e9tach\u00e9e de la r\u00e9alit\u00e9. Bruxelles souhaite s\u2019attaquer \u00e0 la crise du logement, mais elle ignore m\u00eame combien de logements sont r\u00e9ellement inoccup\u00e9s et seraient v\u00e9ritablement disponibles. \u00bb.<\/p>\n

Il s\u2019agit l\u00e0 d\u2019une illusion politique. Au lieu de s\u2019attaquer aux causes de la crise \u2013 \u00e0 savoir la migration incontr\u00f4l\u00e9e, l\u2019explosion des prix de l\u2019\u00e9nergie et la multiplication des r\u00e9glementations impos\u00e9es aux constructeurs, aux propri\u00e9taires et aux locataires \u2013, les groupes de gauche se r\u00e9fugient dans des fantasmes id\u00e9ologiques de mesures coercitives, de plafonnement des loyers et de quotas de r\u00e9sidences secondaires. Pourtant, m\u00eame leurs propres donn\u00e9es montrent que les locations de courte dur\u00e9e ne sont pas le probl\u00e8me, et que de nombreux logements soi-disant \u2018 vides \u2019 ne sont soit utilis\u00e9s que temporairement, soit totalement invendables. \u00c9laborer des politiques sans s\u2019appuyer sur des faits ne fait qu\u2019aggraver la crise.
