Det stod fra starten klart, at en s\u00e5dan plan ville udg\u00f8re en \u00e5benlys overtr\u00e6delse af artikel 7 og 8 i chartret om grundl\u00e6ggende rettigheder og artikel 8 i den europ\u00e6iske menneskerettighedskonvention. Selv EU-R\u00e5dets Juridiske Tjeneste advarede mod massive indgreb i borgernes privatliv og betragtede det som en kr\u00e6nkelse af de grundl\u00e6ggende menneskerettigheder.<\/p>\n<p>Der var derfor st\u00e6rk parlamentarisk modstand fra AfD og hele ESN-gruppen. I tr\u00e5d med den udbredte offentlige protest har vi k\u00e6mpet resolut for at sikre, at borgernes grundl\u00e6ggende frihedsrettigheder ikke ofres til fordel for en centraliseret europ\u00e6isk kontrolmekanisme. Den tyske forbundsregerings kurs\u00e6ndring i dag er resultatet af vedholdende indsats fra b\u00e5de borgere og parlamentsmedlemmer.
